I’m on Facebook now!

This is just a quick update post to let you know I made a Facebook for my blog.

Kiwi in Korea on Facebook! I’m here guys!

Why? I’m not sure how it happened. Sometime last night I was thinking about what I wanted to do with my life, while searching for a new blog theme. I found a nice theme called Lyretail that will encourage me to better utilise featured images (but without being image focussed), and will hopefully display photos a bit better than my last theme. This new theme also offered to display “social links” at the forefront of my blog. This is when I realised I didn’t really have any links for it to feature.

I’ve noticed that some of the blogs I love here on WordPress have Facebook pages, like Learning to Love Anywhere, Crazy Chinese Family and Greece Meets Taiwan. I’m sure many more of you do too, but I just haven’t come across those yet. If you read this, link me to your Facebook page in the comments! So I thought, why not, all the cool kids are doing it. Plus then I could post links to other blogger’s posts that I love, share photos that don’t warrant a whole blog post (I have so many of these), and just generally share things that don’t fit in a blog post format.

So, here’s to my new Facebook page. Now I just need to get the twitter handle off this chap who is definitely not using it. Anyone have any ideas on how to do that? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Also, if you have a Facebook page for your blog, what do you use it for? Have you found it to be a useful tool to expand the reach of your blog? I welcome your opinions and experiences!

  1. About time 😀
I created my facebook page end of last year I think. I also tried to keep a similar theme between my blog, facebook page and twitter account.
The page has helped me to reach out to many more people for the past year so I think it was a good time investment to work on it for a few hours.
Whenever I write a blog post add the facebook page link there as well to help people to “like” it easier instead of searching for it.

Besides that I have put the option in wordpress that each blog post is being published also on twitter and on the facebook page

Yes! I like that about yours, how you’ve used the same header and stuff so it looks part of the same brand. That’s a good idea 🙂 I think I definitely need to put some time and effort into making a decent header! haha.
Oh that makes sense, I like it 🙂 I hadn’t thought about that actually, but yeah, people are lazy. I’ve often bailed on something that took even a tiny bit of effort to find xD
      Thanks for your helpful thoughts!
